Summer Body’s are Created in the Winter

You know that feeling, when it get’s to that first day of summer, it’s Warm, everyone’s got a spring in their step.

​I Love that time of year. 
It’s around this time, my inbox get’s put through it’s paces, with people letting me know, they have 5 weeks until their holiday, can I work my magic. You get the idea. 
​
It’s pretty hard to make any big, long lasting transformations in that time, and I always then get clients saying “I wish I’d started sooner”. 

I always think the same thing, and I’m sure I’m not alone. 
Why not start a few months earlier?

​There’s a few benefits to creating your Summer body in the Winter. Here’s my top 5 which I Guarantee will convince You..... 

Breaking down your Goal

When you give yourself 8 weeks to lose 2 stone. You’re not giving yourself much of a chance with this. Is it possible? Yes. Will it be easy? Hell No.  

Weeks V Weight Loss Per Week
4 Weeks = 7lbs per week
8 Weeks = 3.5lbs per week
16 Weeks = 1.75lbs per week
32 Weeks = 0.8lbs per week

Think about this; most decent trainers strive for a balanced 2lbs per week. Anything more than that is often losing water, or valuable lean muscle. To lose 2lbs per week, you need roughly a 500 calorie deficit per day. So in other words, burn 500 more calories than you use. Not as easy as you may think, but 250 calorie deficit per day? You can do that quite easily by keeping an eye on your diet and simple walking a lot. 

Instantly, by giving yourself more time, your goal becomes manageable, and not such a big deal. 

Quieter Classes

You’re not the only one who joins a group or the gym in the summer. You know the drill, everywhere is packed, busy classes, trainers with little time to speak to you, it’s crazy. Swicth that to the other times of year, and you have more options, less crowded classes, and generally a better environment to workout in

Save Money

Trainers get very busy in the Summer months, so there’s going to be less likely to give you a deal. Try getting in touch with them in the quieter months, and let them in on your long term goal, they will be more likely to give you a great deal, saving you £. ​

Long Lasting Change

By creating a long term goal, you are giving yourself the best chance to actually maintain it. Short term transformations are too easy to YoYo straight afterwards, because you haven’t really changed any habits, you’ve just blasted it for a few weeks. Anyone can do that. The trick is to build these healthy tools into your daily life, so even when you reach your target, you still eat well for energy, and workout because it makes you feel good. ​

Sense of Achievement ​

It’s awesome to be working harder than everyone else. You can feel smug, all wrapped up in your warm jumpers, knowing that in a few months time, you will be unleashing your new body. Work smart now, enjoy the rewards later. ​
