5 fitness tips for busy people
More and more people these days are busier than ever, what with the daily commute, work meetings, long days, social engagements, and then trying to relax with some 'you' time, there's no wonder so many women find it hard to make time for fitness and health. Keeping fit and healthy doesn't have to take hours each day though, if you plan it right, and make it a habit, it simply becomes part of your day. The hardest part is exactly that, making it part of your routine. When you have to think about everything, it is tough, but the more you do it, you will find it easier every day.

I have put together 5 Tips for Busy People, we hope you find it useful. Before we reveal these tips though, I want you to make a commitment to not just read this, and not do anything with it, if you find any of this interesting or relevant to you, just start. Don’t over think it, just action the tips below, and if you need any help, just ask.

  • Lock it in your Diary
This first point is important for a few reasons. Firstly, you are making a commitment that you actually plan on doing this. It’s too easy to not do something if you haven’t written it down. Secondly, with all your daily commitments you have, you will need a reminder, set this up for the day before, and 2 hours before, get excited about it. Lastly, it let’s people know you aren’t available in that time, people will soon get used to your new routine.

  • Recruit a Friend
I think working out with a friend is so much better than doing it on your own. Their is definitely a place for working out solo, as you don’t have to rely on someone else time-keeping, but generally working out with friends is great. Even if you think you’re not competitive, there will be a part of you that will want to do well, meaning you will push yourself harder than you would on your own. You are also much more likely to train for longer with a friend as well, having some to chat to, compare notes and spur each other on is amazing. Lastly, you are much more likely to not miss your workout if you friend is waiting for you. That’s what I call good peer pressure.

  • Keep it Fresh
Variety is the key when it comes to keeping fit and healthy. Think about it, why did you quit your last programme? Chances are, it was boring, and didn’t motivate you. Take some time to ask yourself, what do you love doing, and then fill your programme with that. Seriously, there’s nothing stopping you filling your workouts with fun activities which make you laugh and smile. You will be more likely to leave the office on time if you have a fun workout to go to.

  • Keep it simple

Don’t over complicate your programme or workout schedule. This is one of those things where less really is more. You don’t have to workout for an hour every day, plodding on the treadmill. Join a class, boot camp, or plan a 20 minute blast workout for your local park. The less you have to think, the better. This is why our boot camps across London are so popular, because you turn up, and your session is planned for you, you simply have to turn your brain off and go for it.

  • Prepare in Advance.
This is the number one tip you should take from this. Take time each week (usually a Sunday) to sit down and do 2 things. Review your previous week, and plan for the upcoming week. The review is all about looking at what you did well, and what you could have done better. If you ate the wrong things, ask yourself why? What’s getting in your way? Then look ahead at your upcoming week, book your sessions, predict the barriers, text your mates, find that new dance class, get your workout gear ready, and create a new playlist.

Summary

I get it, you are busy, so is everyone else, it’s up to you to carve our your programme, and lifestyle so you can enjoy your life full of energy and vitality. You have everything you need here, now it’s down to you to make your life what you want. We would love to help you of course, if you need some help creating your programme, or you want to perhaps book into one of our boot camp sessions, we would love to see you.

We have added a 20 minute HIIT workout for you to do at home as well, which you can do before work, or just when you have 20 minutes spare :-)
