In our latest series of blogs, we are looking at which of London’s boroughs is the Fittest in London. We will be looking at what they have to offer, from clothing stores, healthy food places, fitness groups, the parks & local events. It can be pretty territorial in London, with everyone claiming their local area is the best, so once and for all, let’s see which is the best borough in London if Fitness is your thing!
We think Fulham and Parsons Green is pretty good when it comes to kitting yourself out in all the best gear. Fashion & Fitness never used to mix, but it seems everyone wants to look their best when they workout. I totally get this, when you look good, you feel good, that new top, or pair of trainers you just bought, definitely puts a spring in your step when you next go for your workout. Especially if it shows off your good bits!

Clothing & Equipment

We love Sweaty Betty on the fulham road: http://www.sweatybetty.com/boutique/fulham/. Their clothes are a cut above most other stores, and the staff couldn’t be more helpful. They also run FREE fitness sessions each week for their members, from yoga, running, including our boot camp in Fulham as well: http://www.swiftfitnessgroup.co.uk/fulham--parsons-green.html.

Nearer to Fulham Broadway, you have Sweatshop http://www.sweatshop.co.uk/. They do everything here, from the latest GPS tracking devices for your runs, to personalised fitted trainers. They also have Free run clubs as well.

We also have Pro Feet on the fulham Road. http://www.profeet.co.uk/. These guys are experts at what they do, they identify how you move, your foot patterns, how you land, and your weaknesses, they then create custom insoles based on these results.

Healthy Food

Fulham really does have some cool places to eat healthy food. We have Moosh, who are smoothie specialists! They also run special detox programmes, and juice programmes as well, so if you want to kick start after a heavy night at the white horse, this is the place for you! http://www.mooshfruit.com/
Tanya’s Cafe

If Raw food is your thing, you HAVE to go to Tanya’s cafe in Parsons Green. The menu is amazing, super simple, and really tastyIt’s a really cool place to be inspired by healthy food, which is always a good thing!

Whole foods Fulham is my favorite place. It’s packed with healthy, amazing food, and is laid out in such a way, that you can actually enjoy food shopping. Everyone knows, you get what you pay for when it comes to food, and whole-foods is quality all the way. http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/stores/fulham

If you like to stock up on vitamins and supplements, you can get your fill at the local holland and barrett in Fulham. http://www.hollandandbarrett.com

There are so many healthy eating places, there really is no excuse when it comes to eating out!

Local Area

I think Fulham has everything going for it, amazing parks including our favourties Eel Brook Common, Parsons Green, Hurlingham Park & Bishops Park which is right next to the Fulham Football Club, and overlooks the River Thames. You will always see the locals running, and walking their dog’s along the river, it’s the best place to be. There is also a great little running route, names the 2 bridges. Essentially, you do a loop, crossing Putney Bridge and Hammersmith Bridge. It’s around 5K, and you are always by the side of the river. This beats any treadmill in the world!

Local Groups

Fulham has got it all when it comes to Local fitness groups. From Bikram Yoga in Parsons Green, Absolute Pilates Studios, to Indoor Rock Climbing at Urban Ascent in Parsons Green. We took a group to Urban ascent recently for a members social and the team are super helpful, and very good at what they do. We were all beginners, but were able to get stuck in and enjoy it for a solid 90 minutes. Time really flies! You also have our outdoor boot camps based conveniently in Eel Brook Common. We meet 12-15 times per week, with our popular boot camps in Fulham, of which you are more than welcome to join of course!

My Verdict

I truly think Fulham HAS to be one of the fittest boroughs in London. From Boot Camps, Smoothie bars, and uber fashionable clothes at sweaty betty, it really has everything you could want.

We will be testing out other boroughs over the coming weeks, so let us know what you think!
