How hard do you need to work to actually get results? Of course it varies depending on what your goals are, if it's to just feel better on a daily basis, then a light jog should do it. However if you are like most of us and want to get seriously fitter, stronger, faster, or lighter, then the answer is probably much more than 95% people you see in the gym. The trouble with gyms is that they don't really like you seeing too many results, because then you will cancel your membership! Most gyms are simply there to entertain you with TV's, power plates, saunas and trainers that just love to flirt with everyone! You may be thinking, aren't we part of the same industry? Yes, but we make out money by getting you results and by giving our clients the best possible service so that they are inspired to keep on achieving.
Don't be scared of being uncomfortable when you train, uncomfortable is a good thing, it would be wrong if it wasn't uncomfortable! As they say in the films, feel the burn! That's when your body is doing something good and will grow back stronger, and better. The more time you spend under tension, the faster results and better your body will become and recovering.
Look at top athletes at the end of their event, top rowers will fall off their machine at the end, that's 10 out of 10. Now look at your gym, can you see anyone even sweating?
I want you to have a bit of a chat with yourself, and push harder than before, and you will be amazed at what you can do in 4 weeks.
How do you put this into practise? You can make any session tough, or easy, so it's up to you. The latest machine won't work miracles, so get your head around that. Pick 5 key exercises, that work more than one muscle at a time (compound), let's say: Squat jumps, push ups, jumping jacks, crunches, Burpees, 10 reps of each. Set your watch to 20 minutes and see how many rounds you can do in that time. Only rest when you absolutely need to, not before. Do this twice a week between your other workouts and see your results rocket in a month!
