Variety - The Spice of Fitness Life!

Variety is the spice of fitness!

One of the biggest reasons anyone stops working out is that they get bored, or they don’t see results quick enough, or even if they do get results, they plateau. The solution: VARIETY!

From a fitness point of view, our bodies are very good at getting used to what we are asking it to do. If you cycle home every day, I am sure at first it was good for your fitness, but now your body is so used to it, it’s not even hard any more. Same with running, you can run a pretty decent 5k, but can’t break a certain barrier. Shocking the body and changing what you do is the best way to overcome this.

How can you vary a cycle home? Easy, do interval training, (fast, slow, sprint), change your route, beat your time, wear a weighted vest, you get the idea. How can you make it more interesting!

By shocking the body, we get a increase in fitness levels, and a great calorie burn, brilliant.

From a pure sanity point of view, Variety is key. If you do the same thing every day, you will get bored so quickly, and will more than likely just stop.

Look at your week and each day, and make sure you have enough different things to keep you active and satisfied with the challenge. It could be as simple as making sure you get a different trainer at boot camp, or trying a fight club, or a lunchtime HIIT session, even by simply training in a different park, this can keep you on your toes.

Think of all the things you love doing to stay active, push the boundaries, and make sure you are challening your body and mind.

Keep your eye out for our new Warrior Fit sessions, they are brand new and will shock the body!
