Weight Loss Retreats in the UK

Weight loss retreats really have become more popular these last few years, with more and more of us choosing a week's intense exercises regime to get in shape for weddings, for the summer, or just to get in shape for life. Your typical fitness retreat will included everything you would expect, food, board (usually shared), and unlimited motivation from your personal trainers and boot camp coaches.
How long does a weight loss camp last in the UK? Normally you should look for 7 day trips. Some do 3 day courses, which if planned right can be brilliantly short and sweet.

Can you actually lose weight? Yes you can. A lot of what you lose is water retention initially, but if you have worked hard and followed the diet programmes, you can see a difference in just 7 days. The key is to maintain it. If it was that easy to lose weight in a week, gyms would go out of business. Be sensible about it, and look at the weight loss retreat as a big kick start to a healthier, fitter person. You will lose the weight afterwards when you put into practice what your personal trainers taught you.

How much do they cost? A weeks course can set you back between £500-£1500. Some companies allow you to upgrade from a standard room to an ensuite, or from sharing to a private room. The cost can be high, but they really do look after you on the courses.

What activities will we will doing? Each course varies, but you can expect to get the following: Boxing, personal training, spinning, aerobics, yoga, pilates, cycling, walking, running, beach training, surfing, circuits....the list goes on.

If you are thinking of going on a weight loss retreat in the UK, check out the company, and speak to someone on the phone. You can get a better idea of whether you like the companies ethos and way of doing things by speaking directly to someone. Ask for one of their trainers to call you back and you can pick their brains as well. If they are any good, you will be able to tell. If they tell you, you will get in your dream shape in a week, run away fast!

Good luck, keep an eye out for our Sam Warrington Fitness Retreats coming in 2013
