Why I 'Quit' PT

11/13/2014

About 12 months ago now, I made a decision, which at the time, everyone said I was crazy....

I QUIT Personal Training.
Personal Training wasn't what I thought it was. When I first started, I had big aspirations of what I wanted to do, who I wanted to work with & the type of results I wanted my clients to get.

I LOVED it. Seriously, seeing someone lose 3 stone, confidence transformed, habits changed, a better way of life, discovered.

Even though I was getting these great results, and had a big client base, I still decided to quit.

Over the last few years, it's been increasingly easy to get a personal trainer qualification. Everyone has one now, they even have weekend courses on it, costing just £100! I have got nothing against these 'trainers', but I kind of De-Values what I do.

The trouble with this is, that the Standards went down. You can 'personal training' for £15 per hour now. On first glance, it looks amazing. But I will have you consider this.

How motivated do you think your trainer will be if you pay them £15 an hour? Exactly.

How many more clients do you think he has to see at £15 just to pay his rent? Exactly.

How much time do you think you will get for £15? Exactly.

You get less of a service, less accountability and a result that never comes. All you really get is a template plan, copy and pasted with your name on it, and someone to count in a variety of different ways.

You will never see me calling myself a personal trainer now, I am SO much more than that. You Deserve so much more than that.

For the last 12 months, I have only been working 1-1 with people who are willing to adapt to change, be prepared to lean new things, be 100% honest every day, and speak with me in person, once a week MINIMUM. The results have been phenomenal, it seriously works.

If you want a £15 training partner, that's your call.

If you want someone who will give you TIME, and will hold you accountable to the results you say you want, then come and see me.

I also just want to point out, there are some seriously good personal trainers out there, especially the ones working with SWIFT :-)
